Travel is one of those things that naturally gives rise to queries, concerns and doubts, so we're here to put your mind at ease. For questions frequent and otherwise, this is the spot.
Who will lead my trip?
Our trip leaders are thoroughly vetted before we give them our stamp of approval. Each must have an ability to prevent and solve problems in the field, the capacity to deal with the various cultures, governments, and business practices in the places we visit; have the expertise and professionalism required to meet our standards; be able to relate to and provide the best experience for our travelers; and a love for and a great knowledge of the local area.
What clothing should I pack for one of your adventures?
We always recommend packing as light as possible however the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. Our 'Trip Details' document includes a suggested packing list and these will be provided upon confirmation when inquiring about a trip or booking a trip. The checklist is tour specific and based upon the experience of our ground staff.
What vaccinations are recommended for this adventure?
It's important that you receive the most accurate and up-to-date travel health information for the region you will be visiting. The only one qualified to provide you with this advice is your family physician or a specialist from a Travel Health clinic. Our “Resources” page does provide links to a number of websites that contain excellent background information related to travel health issues. Nevertheless these websites are no substitute for a personal consultation with a qualified medical professional.
Is tipping included and if not, how much should I budget?
Tips are not included in the tour price and tipping is entirely at your discretion. Our Trip Details documentation includes suggested tipping amounts and these will be provided in your trip confirmation email.
Do I need travel insurance?
We highly recommend guests purchase travel insurance prior to your trip. Your insurance should cover trip interruption, personal injury, medical expenses, and evacuation and repatriation cover including during pandemic events.
I have special dietary requirements – will they be catered for?
We will try our very hardest to accommodate all dietary requirements but in some out-of-the-way places it can be very difficult to guarantee. We will let you know if there are places on your itinerary where this is the case. Please let us know at the time of booking of any food requirements or allergies and we'll pass the information onto your guide. It is also a great idea to bring a card with your dietary requirements written in the local language for those times you are eating away from the group.
